BUILDING REGULATION CHARGES
Please note the Building Regulation Charges have changed from 1st April 2012
A charge is payable when you send a Building Regulation application to the Council (see 'Building Regulation Charges' below for the current charges sheets). The amount of charge payable depends on the work which is to be carried out and the type of application.
- In most cases when a Full Plans application is made fees are paid in two stages. A plan charge is paid when the plans are deposited for checking and an invoice for the inspection charge is sent after the work has commenced. This inspection charge is a one off fee and will cover the remainder of the inspections, irrespective of the number of visits made;
- With a Building Notice application the total fee is payable on deposit.
No fees are payable in certain cases where the work consists solely of providing facilities for a disabled person.
To request a paper copy of the schedule of charges, for any queries on our charges or to pay the fee by phone please contact our Administration team on the contact details shown below.
The fees consist of three tables of charges depending on the types of works. Please read the Guidance Notes to Building Control Charges below, to ensure you pay the appropriate fee. If you have any queries, would like to discuss the fee, or where standard charges are not applicable, then please contact Gary Starling (Building Control Manager) on 01473 825856.
