Babergh District Council is urging all youngsters to banish the Easter blues and try out a new sporting activity instead.
Over the two-week break, The Big Babergh Initiative (BBI) project has arranged a packed schedule of activities in conjunction with Suffolk County Council’s Extended Schools Service
Children, over the age of five, can try their hand at football camps, multi-sport events, drama and film workshops, swimming, arts and crafts and kangoo jumps – among others. The activities are targeted at various age groups over five with specific activities being provided for teenagers including paintballing and skiing.
Most of the events are free and have been funded by Babergh and Suffolk County Council.
Sue Longhurst, Babergh’s Community Development Officer (Sport), said: “The Easter half-term activities have a really good programme of events and there should be something there to interest everyone.
“We’re urging children of all ages to put down the chocolate and turn their hands to something new and have a bit of exercise at the same time!”
For more details of the programme of events on offer, look out for the leaflets and posters in schools and leisure centres across the district or please visit Babergh’s website, http://www.babergh.gov.uk/
To book a place on one – or more of the activities – please call: 01473 826622. Spaces are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis – and there will be a waiting list in operation in case of last minute cancellations. ENDS
