Bulk Refuse Collection Service

Summary

If you have any large items you would like to dispose of and which will not fit in your wheeled bin, a special ‘bulky’ collection can be arranged.

The Council provides a service for the removal of domestic items such as beds, chairs, carpets and also white goods, e.g. cookers, washing machines, fridges and freezers.

The current charge for this service is £22 for up to 5 items, of which two can be a fridge or freezer.

For further information or to arrange a collection, please call our Refuse Hotline on: 0845 6066045 (Local Rate Call)

Please note: your collection cannot take place until payment has been received. Your payment must to be received by midday on the last working day prior to your requested collection day.

To order a collection online, please visit the Customer Service Direct website: Bulky Household Refuse Collection web page

If you are able to transport bulky items yourself then these can be taken to your Local Household Waste and Recycling Centre (run by Suffolk Council Council) and disposed of free of charge.

Babergh do not supply skips but if you need one then consult the usual business directories such as Yellow Pages.
