Summary

Information about the full Food Safety Enforcement Policy

It is the policy of Babergh District Council to strive to ensure that food and drink intended for sale for human consumption which is produced, manufactured, stored, distributed, handled or consumed within the district is without risk to the health or safety of the customer.

These objectives will be pursued whilst:

  1. promoting economic prosperity amongst the food businesses in the district;
  2. carrying out visits based on risk assessment of the business activities;
  3. ensuring that businesses are provided with advice and guidance to help them comply with the law; and
  4. ensuring that enforcement activities are open to scrutiny.
