The Chairman to answer any questions on any matters in relation to which the Council has powers or duties which affect the District and which fall within the terms of reference of the Committee of which due notice has been given in accordance with Council Procedure Rule No. 15.4 – (a) and (b).

COUNCILLOR CALL FOR ACTION

Report by the Director of Corporate Services attached.  The report will be considered by the Overview and Scrutiny (Stewardship) Committee at its meeting on 19 May.

Paper J25 is included on the agenda for the Community Services meeting so that Members are aware of the new provisions affecting Overview and Scrutiny Committees and also the recommendation in 2.1 of Paper J25 as set out below:-

  • That the Overview and Scrutiny (Community Services) Committee be appointed the Council’s crime and disorder committee for the purposes of the Police and Justice Act 2006 and that the Constitution be updated accordingly (para 5.11 of Paper J25 refers).
  • The decision of Overview and Scrutiny (Stewardship) Committee on 2.1, which is a recommendation to Council, will be reported to the meeting which is also asked to note Paper J25 as referred to under 2.2 of that report.
