You can send us your payment by cheque or postal order or deposit a cheque in our offices. Cheques can also be handed in at the Sudbury Advice Centre, Town Hall, Sudbury betwen 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (please bear in mind that cheques deposited at Sudbury will take up to 7 days to be credited to your account). The Sudbury Advice Centre cannot accept cash payments. Please do not send cash in the post or place in our deposit box. Make the cheque or postal order payable to Babergh District Council and write your payment reference number and postcode on the back. The postal address for payments is:-

The Council will not issue receipts for cheque payments unless a stamped addressed envelope is enclosed with your payment.
Cash payment can be made at any Post Office or PayPoint outlet, but you must first obtain a Council Tax/Rent Payment Card from the Council. To request either or both of these cards, please contact Customer Services on 01473 825798.
As soon as you have received your Payment Card(s) you can make payment by handing your card(s) to the counter staff in the Post Office or PayPoint and advise them how much you are going to pay. You will be given a receipt as proof of payment.
Contact Customer Services by telephone on 01473 825798 who will prepare a mandate with your rent details for you to complete, sign and take to your bank.
